Quell is built to be private by design. It runs entirely on your device. There are no accounts, no servers we control, and no tracking.
What we collect
Nothing. Quell does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal information. We have no analytics, no advertising, no third-party trackers, and no backend that receives your data.
What stays on your device
Your preferences (theme, volumes, chosen soundtrack, whether the coach voice is on) are stored locally on your device so the app remembers them between sessions. This information never leaves your device and is removed if you delete the app.
Audio
The 40 Hz binaural beat is generated on your device in real time. The coach voice and music are bundled with the app and played locally. Quell does not access your microphone, your media library, or any recordings.
Purchases
The one-time unlock for music and the coach voice is processed by Apple through the App Store. Quell never sees your payment details. Apple's handling of that transaction is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. We only receive, from Apple's on-device APIs, a yes/no signal of whether the unlock has been purchased.
Children
Quell does not collect data from anyone, including children. It contains no ads and no external links to user-generated content.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date above. Because the app collects nothing, we do not anticipate material changes.
